Katt Williams criticizes Cedric the Entertainer for allegedly stealing joke

Katt Williams claims that Cedric the Entertainer used his material in the 2000 film “The Original Kings of Comedy”. Katt Williams is blasting Cedric for allegedly stealing one of his best jokes. On Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Katt Williams criticized Cedric for denying the joke theft on the same show in 2022. Cedric thought that Katt Williams was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know.

The issue was that Katt Williams had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well on BET’s ComicView that they made it part of the commercial. This is not just a random joke. This is Katt Williams’ very best joke and it is his last joke and it is his closing joke. 1998 Katt Williams was doing this joke, it was on ComicView.

Cedric comes to “The Comedy Store“, he watches Katt Williams in the audience, comes backstage, tells Williams what a great job he did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, Cedric is doing that as his last joke on the Original Kings of Comedy and he is doing it verbatim. Cedric has just changed Katt Williams’ car into a spaceship. Cedric responded to Katt Williams in the comments section of an Instagram post that featured a clip from the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, calling Williams’ allegation “revisionist history”.

Regardless of whatever Katt Williams’ opinion, Cedric’s career can not be reduced to one joke Williams claims as his.

Cedric has been over 40 movies, his specials and brand speaks volumes for he is. Cedric had to previously appeared on Club Shay Shay in 2022 and addressed Katt Williams’s allegations of theft at the time. Cedric previously claimed on the Club Shay Shay podcast in November 2022 that it was “ridiculous” that Katt Williams was upset and denied stealing one of Williams’ jokes.

Cedric has seen Katt Williams 30 times. If Williams literally was that upset about it, why did Williams not say nothing, it does not even make sense to Cedric. When Cedric responded to Williams, Williams did not respond back and Cedric left it at that. Williams claimed that Cedric, as well as Steve Harvey, had previously apologized to Williams, so that is why Williams never brought it up during their interactions and gave them a “pass for a decade”.

But Williams became frustrated when Cedric went on the podcast and publicly denied the allegations of joke theft. Elsewhere in the episode, Williams took shots at Harvey. This is like Harvey telling people he used to be homeless. Harvey was never homeless, 25 years ago Harvey was making $3,000 a show in cash and doing five shows a week. They just tell the stories.

Katt Williams took aim at fellow comics Cedric, Harvey, and Rickey Smiley during an appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast published Wednesday.

Williams called Smiley a liar for suggesting that he was supposed to play Money Mike in the 2002 film “Friday After Next” while Williams was supposed to take the Santa Claus role. Williams told host Shannon Sharpe that he wanted to address the mistruths said about him by “low-brow comedians” on Sharpe’s show, describing Cedric, Harvey, and Smiley as a “gang”. For 30 years, they are a group, these are not three random guys.

Williams accused Cedric of stealing a joke from his comedy set in the late ‘90s, which he also performed on the BET program ComicView. While Williams initially gave Cedric a pass for his use of the joke, he changed his tune after Cedric later denied taking from Williams’ material.
