NBCUniversal’s Peacock was introduced initially to Comcast customers in mid-April

Despite being a major internet service provider, Comcast has seen a significant number of its customers switch to streaming services like Netflix, highlighting the shift in consumer preferences towards online content. In August 2020, NBCUniversal’s Peacock was introduced initially to Comcast customers in mid-April.

Comcast is the parent company of NBCUniversal and CNBC.

Peacock, which does not charge a cost for its standard service but relies on audiences to produce ad dollars, reported hitting 10 million signups. Trends have been much better than expected throughout the board, and that it is still early days for the brand-new app. While Peacock presses its growth, the company is keeping an eye on the consumer, and the number of services they will want to register when they are no longer locked down in their homes.
